Hiding objects in slideshow

i am using PPT 2003 and i have a mark on a slide that i use to make people
align images to but i dont want the mark to appear on the finished slideshow
is it possible to have something that shows on a lisde in design mode but not
on the presentation?

You could probably do this with an animation. Perhaps, you could animate
the shape to exit after 0 seconds.

You probably need to use guides. They will nevert show in slide show mode

Right click an empty part of the screen > grids and guides

You'll get two but you can get more with ctrl drag or move them by dragging
