hiding page numbers

Hi there,

When i create ppt decks sometimes i need to hide a page number or a standard
signature that's on every page because my slide has too much information on
it.

i usually take a circle and colour it what and the line white and hide what
i need to hide.

this works well with the slide deck but when I print the slides out you can
see the circles with a black line around it even tho you can't see it on the
computer. is there any way to hide it on the print outs as well?

thanks,
Amy

Go to the Insert Menu and choose Slide Number. Uncheck the box for slide
number and click on Apply (not Apply to All). These are instructions for
2003. If you are using 2007, where to find it will be different, but the
idea is the same.

Your template probably uses the Slide Number placeholder. Assuming
that is the case, you can go to [View] --> [Header and Footer...] and
uncheck the "Slide Number" checkbox. If that doesn't work, you may
need to create a new slide master or alter your current one, but we'll
save that for if this doesn't work...

Rather than do that, just turn off the page number in the Footer for
the particular slides (Select Slide, menu View/Header and Footer ... ,
then uncheck Slide Number and Apply).

The only choice I can think of, if you're using version 2003 or later,
would be to have a second Master without the signature (and a the
slide number turned off) and apply it to the slides in question.

Yes, if the signature is in the footer, just uncheck the Footer checkbox
while you are unchecking the Slide Number check mark. They are right next
to each other. If the signature is not in the footer, you can either put it
there, or you'll need a second slide master.
