Yes, you can easily do this--in fact, on the Mac, it should do it
automatically. Hook up an external display (either a monitor or a data
projector) to your Mac. Go into Powerpoint and start up the
presentation. Doesn't it show the slides on the external display?
If not, go to System Preferences, click on Displays, and then
Arrangement. Make sure "Mirror Displays" is unchecked. If it still
doesn't work, go to Powerpoint, Set Up Show, and click "Screen" and
choose the display where you want the slides to project.
