hiding recipient's name

I sometimes get an email that contains (undislosed
recipient )in the TO: field! How do they do that?

Some e-mail programs will put a dummy name in the To: field if you put
e-mail addresses in the BCC: field and nothing in To:. Outlook Express
is the one that I know of that specifically uses that
"Undisclosed-Recipient;;" text. Outlook doesn't do this; if you send a
message out with addresses in BCC but nothing in To, it will either be
rejected by your ISP, or your recipients will receive a message with a
blank From field, which most anti-spam filters will promptly throw into
the trash heap.

The most common way is to address the mail to the sender,
i.e., To and FROM names are identical, and use the BCC
option to add names or a distribution list.

Thanks....on an added note. I did try sending an email
using "only" the bcc: field, the recipient received an
email with "my" email address in the TO: field....this is
using Outlook, not Express though!
