Hiding table gridlines for particular documents (Word 2002)

I understand it is possible to show or hide table gridlines globally, but am
wondering if it is possible to hide gridlines for specific documents (or
even a specific table). The issue here is documents are sent to clients and
we would rather not have the gridlines show up (so this setting - if it
exists - would need to be document specific, not application specific). I
realize this is a cosmetic issue but wanted to see if there was a solution.

Not really. Unless you want clients to be making changes to your documents,
though, you should not be sending them in Word format anyway. You can print
to a pdf document if you have the right software.

(You can put a macro in your document to turn off display of gridlines when
it is opened, but that will probably scare your clients with a macro warning
rather than impress them with a clean-looking document.)

Covering up the borders is a great idea - and has the bonus of being table
specific (the autonew/autoclose option would be document specific). Thanks!
