In several places, Microsoft recommends a "High quality close-talk headset
and microphone, with gain adjustment and a USB interface". This is for
Office XP 2003 Speech Recognition and Voice Commands. Can anyone with a lot
of experience recommend a manufacture and model?

As long as you pay more than $4.99 you should be okay. (Yes, I am being a
bit sarcastic but seriously, as long as you don't buy the cheapest pair you
can find, you should be okay. You don't have to borrow from your 401K to get
these.)

Hi Zodom,

There are a number of microphones out there. Ones with 'noise cancelling' features can be useful as can those that are directional
rather than omni-directional).
