I use OneNote on a Tablet PC at 1024x768 resolution. I use OneNote because of
how it lets me organize my files -- but, I have noticed that Windows Journal
lets me get a pen that is (roughtly) one-half the width of the smallest
custom pen in OneNote. (One or two pixels vs. 2 or 3 pixels, it seems.)

Smaller is better when screenspace is at a premium. I'd like to be able to
set my pens in OneNote smaller than the current smallest option, basically.
It just kicks it back with an invalid entry message when I try to make it too
small (0.05mm, I think) whereas Windows Journal allows the same too-small
size, and makes it work.
