Highest value in a list

Rodney

In my cash flow forecast I want to be able to include in a
summary of various data the highest and lowest bank
balances and the months in which these occur. I believe
that I use "Lookup" to pick up the name of the month but
cannot think of a formula to enter on say sheet1 to pick
up the highest balance from a list on say sheet2?

Rodney,

Use the MAX function to get the largest value in a range of cells.
E.g.,

=MAX(Sheet2!A1:A10)

See also the MIN, SMALL, and LARGE functions.
