Highlight Gantt chart bar

P

Paul

When I select tasks (rows) in the WBS, I would like the corresponding
Gantt Chart bars to be highlighted. Makes it easier to follow. Is
there a way to do this?

Hi Paul,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :)

This is not possible. Anyway, it would overwrite the bar colours that have
been established, eg the red of a critical task. If you click the task and
then the goto button, that task will be brought into view. Zooming in and
out might also help.

FAQs, companion products and other useful Project information can be seen at
this web address: http://project.mvps.org/faqs.htm

Hope this helps - please let us know how you get on :)

Thank you, Glen. I found that I can click on the bars themselves, and
the corresponding task in the WBS lights up. Almost as good!

Paul,
Just a note of caution in relation to selecting the gantt bar to highlight
the task. It is poassible, by doing this, to accidentally create a split in
the task, move the task or extend the duration. This all depends on where
you click on the gantt bar and whether you accidentally move the mouse at the
same time :)
