Highlight Merged Fields

I posted this question in the Mail Merge area without success - Maybe it can
be addressed here.
I'd like to change the grey shading used to Highlight Merge Fields in a
mail merge document to another colour, say, green when a user toggles the
button on the Mail Merge Toolbar. Is that possible?
I'm using Word 2003.
