Highlight multiple shapes in a selection individually?

When multiple shapes are selected at the same time, Visio (2003 by the way)
draws a large selection box around the outside of all of the selected shapes.

For the work I'm doing, I would rather show the user the individual shapes
that are in the selection (i.e highlight the individual shapes rather than a
single box that surrounds them all).

Is this possible? If so, how can this be controlled.

Thanks

Susan

PS I'm using both ShapeSheets and VBA for this work so I would prefer if the
alternatives were limited to these (as opposed to COM add-ins and the like)

Perhaps no.
My alternative is to change line color of selected shapes, and deselect all.

John,

Thanks for the additional information on June's comment.

In my situation I'm able to control the line colours everywhere, so I have
decided that selected cells can have a coloured (non-black) border line, and
the line colour for non-selected cells can always be black. This also means
that I can scan all of the shapes for non-black lines and reconstruct the
'selected' set (if I ever loose this information).

Thanks to you and June

Susan
