Highlighted section unwanted

Just new to this product and have been transferred a notebook. When I look
at the page the right hand side is all shaded grey and then about half way
down all the text is shaded. Any suggestions on how to undo this would be
much appreciated!

Can you clarify what you mean?

Is your page size possibly too small to display all of the content?

What happens if you go to the File menu | Page Setup | Page Size | Paper
Size to another size?
