Highlighting "Task Name"?

When in the Gantt Chart view, is there a way to highlight a task in the "Task
Name" column? The only method I've come up with is changing the color of the
font, but I'd like to highlight the entire cell, similar to the "fill"
function in Excel.

Project 2007 allows you to fill the cell background but in versions prior to
Project 2007 you can only change the font.
