Highlighting Text

I recently reformatted my pc and reinstalled all original
software. After the format and restore, one function
that I rely on very much doesn't seem to work anymore.
The ctrl+backspace feature to highlight multiple words
doesn't work anymore. Can anyone help with this? Thanks
in advance.

Did this ever work? For me it deletes the previous word. But if EXT is
enabled, then Ctrl+Left Arrow will select the previous word. Possibly you
had Ctrl+Backspace assigned to a command such as WordLeftExtend?

If so, you can restore the shortcut using Tools | Customize | Keyboard.
