What works for me is;

Insert
HTML code fragment...
Mouse pointer will change to a crosshair

Create a rectangle of any size with the left mouse button depressed and then
let the mouse button go. Very small is ok.
A widow will open and it will say <!-- Insert your HTML here. -->

On my site it is <img src="/cgi-bin/Count.cgi?df=dschmidt.dat">

Replace dschmidt with your logon, probably danene

Next do a File Preview web page. Select the second option to see the page
your counter is on.

If it isn't where you want it, close the preview with the X upper right
corner
Click and drag your Insert where you want it. Resize the rectangle if you
want.

Good luck,
