Hit Counter

I created a hit counter for my web page and placed it in the home portion.
The problem I am having is that, everytime I go back and forth on the home,
it keeps incrementing? Is this normal? I don't want multiple hits from the
same time. Is there a way I can prevent the hit counter from incrementing,
while being at the web page that one time? How about others that visit the
page, will it increment everytime they go back and forth between other pages
and the home?

That's how the FP hit counter works. Everytime anyone accesses or refreshes
the page, it will increment.

You may wish to google for a third party hit counter that doesn't do that.

Yes - it is a *hit* counter.

It counts every access to the page. It doesn't recognise unique visitors.
