Holidays Show Up as Free

I'm using MS Outlook 2003

I've downloaded holidays, and they show up on my calendar as free, all-day,
events. How can I get them to show as "out-of-office"?

Not all holidays are off days. For example, Flag Day in the US is certainly
NOT an out-of-office day. Why not alter those holidays you really have off?

Most of the holidays I really am off. Trying to search for the holidays, and
alter them, kind of defeats the whole purpose of the holiday feature. Might
as well not have it.

Besides, I'd rather my schedule show "out-of-office", and not make (or
receive) appointments, as make appointments then not be there!
