Home email account in Outlook 2007

I have several email accounts set up in Outlook 2007. When viewing the Mail
tab in the navigation pane, one of the accounts is apparently automatically
designated as the "home" email account and has a different icon that shows
this designation. I recently deleted the email account that was the "home"
account and another was automatically designated as the "home" account. The
problem is that this new "home" account is not the one I primarily use. I
want to find out how to designate a specific email account as the "home"
account so I can put my primary account at the top of the list of accounts.
I have searched Microsoft high and low but haven't been able to find an
answer. The Outlook 2007 website says that the accounts are listed in
alphabetical order and cannot be changed, but the account that appears at the
top of the account list begins with a "z" and the account I want to appear at
the top of the account list begins with a "b."

Thanks in advance for all assistance!

I think you are using incorrect terminology. Outlook doesn't HAVE a "home"
account, it has a DEFAULT account.
You can set whatever account you like as the Default account in
Tools-Account Settings

Sorry, I should have clarified. I have set the "default" email account to the
one I use most often and have restarted Outlook. It didn't seem to affect
the order of accounts in the "Mail" tab of the navigation pane. The reason I
call it the "home" account is because that is what the icon was called on the
website that explained what all the icons were. The icon is a sheet of paper
with a clock and a house. The other icons consists of three file folders in
some kind of white box.

Hmm. You might have some sort of add-ins.
My Outlook doesn't have these odd icons. What version of Outlook?

Your default account is something different from your default data store. To
set you default data store use;
File-> Data File Management...

Here select the data store that you want as the default and press the
Default button. You'll be prompted to restart Outlook for changes to take
affect.

The "default data store" was the key. My primary email account is now at the
top of the list!

Thank You ! ! !
