home page (index.htm) hyperlink

I want my home page (index.htm) to view for one second with a logo picture,
then hyperlink to a page which is the real home page with content. I do not
think this is hard to do, but I am new to web sites building. Thanks in
advance for your help.

In the <head> section
<meta http-equiv="refresh" content="1;
url=http://www.yoursite.com/realhome.html">

You can also add in the <body>
<p>Please click<a href="http://www.yoursite.com/realhome.html"> here</a>
if a new page doesn't appear in 1 second.</p>

Although, if its a large image it may take more than a second to load in the
page...in which case the page has been and gone before anyone has even seen
the pic on the splash screen.
