my home page has lost all the formatting I gave it. font, back ground colour
and navigation structure. If you view my home page and then click on one of
my category links in the centre of the page you can the formatting on the
other pages. It seems the problem just relates to the home page. I have not
made any changes to web page style recently, it has just appeared tonight
after I uploaded a few added images and text etc.
any ideas on how to correct it and what may have happened to cause it?

thanks for taking a look at my question.
P.S the home page on my laptop (the local site) looks just fine.

Thank you for your help - it worked just fine. I am not in the habit of
getting into the html issues, i try to use the FP functionality to create.
any theories on what I could have done via the FP functionality tools to
delete this HTML from the home page.
Thanks again.

No I did not. I have got myself in trouble before trying to apply themes and
was not confident to try it. I inserted the HTML code suggested by Stefan B
Rusynko. Thanks for taking the trouble to send me a reply though.

Nothing in FP would have deleted it
- only you could have deleted all those tags in code view
