Home & Student Upgrade

I need Access and Publisher on my home computer, in addition to Word, Excel,
and PowerPoint. I don't need Outlook. I have a HUP license for 2003, but
our company doesn't offer the HUP pricing on Office any more, so I'm likely
going to have to shell out for a full version.

What is going to be the least expensive way to go? I thought about buying
Home and Student, then getting the upgrades for Access and Publisher, but I
wasn't sure if the upgrades for Access and Publisher would work with Home and
Student, or if I'd have to get the standard versions of those as well.

Or would I just be better off shelling out the $500+ bucks for the full Pro
version of Office. The price of that is pretty daunting for a home user, but
I do a lot of genealogy and other stuff in Access and Publisher, and I
absolutely have to have them.

Upgrade versions are generally cheaper if you have an existing PC with a
previous versions of Microsoft Office or Works already installed or you
have media for them. You can first buy MS Works for peanuts and then
buy an upgrade version of Office Professional 2007 or something similar
to suit your requirements.

Hope ths helps.

Thanks! That's definitely better than shelling out $500 plus for the full
Pro version. I want legitimate software, but it's really hard when
Microsoft's prices are so out of reach for normal people.

Since you already have Office 2003, why do you need to buy anything other
than the upgrade? I assume you have disks.
