Please re-read your posting, then try writing another one and describe

There are one or two anomalies, but unless you come across them and they
prove to be a major stumbling block, all should be well..

How can I get my Office 97 to work with my Windows XP? My first attempt
failed, and I don't want to change working files. Are there compability
problems?

Hi Marion,

Office 97 is compatible with Windows XP. Can you provide
details, such as specific error messages that explain the
'first attempt failed' note in your message please?

Be sure to shut down all programs/utilities/antivirus
when installing Office.

Should work just fine. Exactly what error messages or symptoms are you
seeing? ARe the errors during install, or while using one or more of
the Office programs?

What do you mean by "don't want to change working files"? Aren't by
defintion files you are working on to be changed? Say more. What's
behind that thought? What is your goal?

Hope this is useful to you. Let us know.
