Horizontal line in doc that cannot remove

I have a horizontal, page-width line in a word doc that
cannot be eliminated. Regardless of how I cut, delete, or
re-format it it remains visible. I cannot even enter
paragraph returns to move it down below the current page --
because it simply pops back up. There is no apparent way
to control or eliminate it. Any help would be appreciated!

There's an arrow icon in the "Draw" toolbar. Select it and see if that
helps.

Hi,

In the Format Menu, select Reveal Formating and look in the Reveal
Formating pane you will find that the horizontal line is one of the style
properties. Take it out from there and your horizontal line will disappear.
