horizontal ruler disappears

This question is for a friend who keeps losing her horizontal ruler. She
works in Normal view. Every time she goes into Word, the ruler is missing
and she has to go to View/Ruler and tick to put it back.

Change the view setting -

You can control the view with auto macros in normal.dot. The following will
set the rulers for each document regardless. Change the 100 to any preferred
zoom level. I have included also some of the other regular problem fixes,
but you can remove the extra lines if required. If you want print layout
rather than normal view swap the apostrophe from the beginning of the line
where indicated to the other.
