Horizontal Ruler

Missy Olson

One of my co-workers was out of the office and they had
someone sitting at my co-workers desk. Anyway, some how
this person was able to shut off the horizontal ruler. So
every time my co-workers opens Word or another document
while in Word you have to do the following steps EVERY TIME

Go to View click on Ruler.

Can anyone out there help me out and tell me how to
permanently keep the horizontal ruler on? Any help would
be appreciated. I just for some reason can not remember.

Oh and by the way we have Word XP.

Totally - Stumped

Missy,

Maybe the template file is misbehaving. With Word closed,
look in the template directory for ~$Normal.dot and delete
it. Select and right click on the Normal.dot file and
open it. Set the ruler to display. Close the Normal.dot
file.

If the ruler is displayed when you quit Word, it should be displayed on
starting Word. If the ruler is displayed in an open window, any document you
open from that window should have the ruler displayed.
