Horizontal scroll lock

Good afternoon,

I don't know the technical Excel name for it, but on a
spreadsheet that I've inherited, there are several columns
on the left that seem to be "scroll locked", that is they
stay there no matter how far across to the right I scroll,
and it is the columns to the right of this sort of lock
that scroll left & right with the scroll bar.

Can anyone tell me how to remove this feature - your help
will be greatly appreciated.
