Hosted Project Server 2007 / 2010

Hi-
Anyone currently using a hosted instance of Project Server 2007?

I would be interested in your experiences regarding

how well the solution is working for you
has it been cheaper than hosting internally
your experiences re service packs, CUs, server patch levels etc.
vendor resopnse to issues
connectivity issues
customizability (can you do your own or does vendor need to do them)
security
backup / restore
surprises (hidden costs, inability to do expected functions)

We are seriously looking at the costs of moving to 2010 (Sharepoint
Enterprise CALS, etc.) and hosting may become a viable alternative for
our organization, but I feel like I need to have a stronger
understanding of the issues in order to make a well-considered
decision.

Obviously, it would be a ton of work to answer all of the questions
above, but any sharing of experience will be appreciated.

Thanks in advance for your help!
Jim

Not to advertise, but the folks at Project Hosts (a partner of ours) would
be able to have a candid conversation about all of those topics. Microsoft
is also offering a hosted solution, but I'm not sure who the contact person
is over there.

You can try Phase 2 as well (www.phase2.com). They should be able to answer a lot of your questions and have a savings calculator on their site.
