Hosting for Expression Web?

I need want to start learning Microsoft Expression Web. I also want to
move my domain name to a new hosting service.

What kind of requirements for a hosting service do I need for a
Website created with Expression Web? Do I need Frontpage Extentions or
something to that effect?

Is a Linux server OK?

Expressions does not need the FPSE, but it can use them if
the host has them. It will also work with current pages that
do utilize them.
To get the most out of EW, you will want a host that offers
ASP.Net V2, not too hard to find to them
I moved the core portions of my sites to CrystalTech.com
last week (based on several good words here), and they have
been great.

Hi,

As mentioned ASP.NET 2.0 or highier is a requirement but it mostly depends
on what you want to do, you stick with what you know. There will most likely
be a charge for transfering your domain to whomever you decide to go with.
Also, keep in mind Expressionweb does not require FP Extentions and if you
use FTP with a server that is configured with FPSE they will or can become
corrupt.

Net 2 is not required for an EW site, it is only needed if
you are using the .net controls. Yes FTPing is a bad idea
with EF if you are using the FPSE, but that is not a change,
it has always been that way. I have yet to be charged for
transferring a domain to a new host

For hosting - http://www.techevolution.com would be the company I recommend.
They have both Linux and Windows servers so depending on if you would like to
use a server side language, you can. On Windows, you can usually use ASP and
..NET and sometimes PHP.

On *NIX, you can usually use PHP and sometimes ASP / .NET if programs are
installed but you might not be able to fully use those as well if you were to
be hosted on a Window servers

Expression web supports publishing via http and FTP. To use http, you would
need the FPSE, but FTP works just as well (a bit slow on Expression Web
though)
