Hot-keys don't work anymore

Recently all hotkeys have stopped working. For example, using Ctrl+B no
longer makes words bold. This is not the first time this has happenned, but
is a problem that has only appeared on this computer in the past couple of
days. This applies not only ot word but to all windows applications, e.g.
media player, etc. For example, Ctrl+F no longer fast forwards in wmp. Any
suggestions?

Possibly your Ctrl key isn't working?

Ctrl key works fine. I just reset and removed a couple of programs which i
had only uploaded in the last couple of days. Seemed to work really well -
everything is back to normal. Thanks for the reply anyway. Back to uni
assignments!
