Hu Guys:
I just cannot find this anywhere, and am working from memory.
When MS brought out Office 2003 SP3 they broke the Access text import
wizard. You can no longer go past field 1 when defining what you want.
Ths worked fine before SP3, and is not an esoteric function.
Nevertheless the hotfix for it is a closely guarded secret.
It was never released for easy download, but it is completely free.
All you have to do is phone up and ask for it, hand over several dozen hard
to find bits of information, and provided you are a 'properly authorised
person' you can get this fix for what MS broke.
Does nyone know what number to call from the UK (and opening times)?
What question to ask?
And what bits of information they are going to want. (I work during the day,
and cannot take my home machine into the office, connect it up, and then drag
round looking for the information).
Why on earth somenthing so basic was never made generally available I cannot
understand. - When you see all the other really wierd and unusual stuff you
can get, why is it so hard to get a text import that works??
Anyway any help greatly appreciated. - Best solution would be to get a URL
from where I can just go and download.
Many thanks
