Hotfix KB 885224 uninstalled Project Server

I was having a problem with the sync between enterprise resource pool and AD.
I installed the hotfix as per KB 838882. It did not work.

I then installed the hotfix as per KB 885224 as it was supposed to be an
update hotfix to the problem. However, the hotfix has uninstalled MS Project
Server. Yes, you heard me right - it uninstalled my installation. Luckily, I
had an image taken before the hotfix install.

Has anybody had this issue before? Any ideas, why this might have happened?
