After months of troublefree use Outlook 2007 in WinXP is randomly deselecting
the "remember my password" option in Outlook Connector. I have 5 MSN/Hotmail
accounts configured for personal family use plus a seperate POP/SMPT account
for work use.
Firing up Outlook would result in one or more of the 5 Hotmail accounts,
it's never the same account twice running, displaying a "failure to connect
to server message" in the Outlook Connector interface along with a blank
logon box and unchecked "remember my password" box. Manually retyping the
information and ticking the box is usually accepted but is not a guarantee
that it will download any email in the affected accounts.
Sending email doesn't appear to be an issue however and has never been
affected by any of this. The only solution I've found that works so far is to
delete the affected account followed by an uninstall/reinstall of Outlook
Connecter. Setting up the affected account(s) after a system restart has it
working fine for a day or so if I'm lucky.
Have I missed something obvious here in setting it up?
