Hotmail and Its Folders: Retrieving Emails Via POP

Version: 2008
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: Intel
Email Client: pop

Now that Hotmail is a POP service, it no longers appears to retrieve and show mails from all folders within the Hotmail account.

As a DAV service I was able to quickly see the Junk Mail folder in Entourage in similar fashion to an IMAP account. And now that POP is king (sorry Michael), it appears retrieving mail is limited strictly to the Inbox of the account.

How do I receive the mails of the Junk Mail box through Entourage without resorting to logging into the account via the web?

Please advise.

Entourage in similar fashion to an IMAP account. And now that POP is

Unfortunately, this is the nature of POP. That is, it downloads and
deletes from the server (unless you've told Entourage not to delete
messages). POP does not allow you to synchronize your entire account as
you were doing with DAV or would do with IMAP.

To retrieve all your messages from Hotmail and have them available in
Entourage, you may need to log in using a web browser and move messages
into the Inbox. This will allow you to download them into Entourage
where you'll have to move them into new folders on your computer.

If you're still able to use DAV then simply drag messages from your DAV
Hotmail account into folders under "On My Computer" and that should be that.

Hope this helps!
