Hotmail connector on Final Release of Office 2010 14.0.4763.1000 won't work

Hello,

I had the beta version and the hotmail connector worked fine. I'm
currently using 14.0.4763.1000 - the finally release posted yesterday on
technet - and it doesn't sync my hotmail accounts. The Connector it
installed is also version 14.0.4763.1000. I tried uninstalling and
resinstalling. I tried removing my hotmail account from outlook and setting
it up from scratch. I also tried rebooting. If anyone has a previous
version of Outlook connector beta please let me know - that works.

It is a shame MS started using Outlook Connector for hotmail. Hotmail
worked so much better before they started that nonsense.

Hotmail still works when using POP to access your mailbox (but only the
Inbox folder) without requiring any add-ons to any e-mail client that
supports POP.

Since Office 2010 is still in beta status, the add-on may not yet be fully
compatible with it. This newsgroup discusses the released versions.

Thanks _ I believe 14.0.4763.1000 is the release version. It does actually
send and receive e-mail for my hotmail account but it does always report
0x80004005 "there is an error synchronizing your mail account. Please
verify your account is configured correctly by first accessing your mail on
the web. Error: 4203

So, you have an MSDN or Technet subscription to get an early copy of the RTM
(release to manufacturing) version of Office 2010? If you had paid for the
pricey subscription and which includes support from Microsoft, why wouldn't
you be asking them for help?

The early release means you are given time to train and prepare yourself in
deploying the product to the employees of your company. Is that your
situation? You didn't get support included in MSDN or Technet subscription?
If so, still why wouldn't you be visiting the community that was setup for
discussing Office 2010 where those users are focused and experienced on THAT
version?

So which one of these did you buy?

Office 2010 only is only in the VS Premium & Ultimate subscriptions at $5469
and $11899. At that price, just why aren't you asking Microsoft for help?

They probably haven't updated those pages yet to reflect that Office 2010 is
included. The cheapest package costs $349. So why aren't you using the
technical support incidents included since you paid all that money?

For the rest of us without Technet or MSDN subscriptions, Office 2010 is
still a beta version and we can't buy a released version until sometime in
May or June. So until then, and if you didn't fork out the money which
would've included support, the Office 2010 forums are your best bet for a
denser population of users familiar with the still-beta version. What you
get from http://office.microsoft.com is a beta version since you are
obviously not paying for the download, and when it isn't beta anymore then
what you get to download is a trial version. Unless you pay for the
subscriptions, you aren't getting any version of Office for "free" (i.e., at
no additional cost) from Microsoft.

Oh? I'm still waiting for the OP to reply that he *does* have an MSDN or
Technet subscription to get an early RTM copy. Go to the Office web site.
Which version do YOU see available from there? Yep, still beta.

I didn't know I was required to give proof I have a technet subscription in
order for you to deem me worthy of a decent answer instead of your BS
response. I posted an issue - since you don't develop the program and have
little value in your responses I'm not expecting anything from you.
Tillman knows what Outlook very well though so I might get something of
value from Brian.

If you had read my post I said I downloaded it direct from MS (which
requires an account which you apparently don't have) - I didn't hack into
their system to get it.

I don't know why this thread got hijacked and off topic, but I've got the
same problem with Outlook 2010 using the final release of the Hotmail
Connector. Odd thing is, I installed Office2010 on the day it was posted on
MSDN. At that time it installed the Beta Connector, I recently installed
Visio 2010, and had to uninstall the Beta Connector for the RTM Visio 2010
to install. When I reinstalled the connector I got the Final Release (Oh how
I wish I had saved the Beta to disk) since then I get this on Send/receive
on my Hotmail accounts:

Task '(e-mail address removed)' reported error (0x80004005) : 'There is an
error synchronizing your mail account. Please verify your account is
configured correctly by first accessing your mail on the web. Error: 4202.
'
