Hotmail Password not being saved in Outlook Internet e-mail profil

My Outlook (2002) will not save my password for my HotMail account even
though I set it up/configured it correctly. I am prompted for my password
each time I check for email in my HotMail account. I have other systems
where the password saved property works.
I have tried to find a reference in the registry where I could enter
the password. I couldn't find a registry key for this.
I'm interested in a "fix" to resolve the issue. Either a "correct
method" to get Outlook to save the password or a "registry hack".
I'm using Outlook 2002 (XP) from Office XP Standard Ed. on XP Home, SP2.

Hi, Andreas,

No, I'm accessing HotMail via HTTP. I.e. I'm using the configuration
wizard provided by Outlook to set up access by Outlook to HotMail. Thanks
for asking though.
What I find odd is I already have a couple of other PCs where the setup
has saved the HotMail user login & password, (like Outlook appears it can
do). The current PC that is haing the issue is the first one I've done where
I have XP SP 2 installed prior to setting up Outlook. The others were done a
year or so ago. I don't know if SP2 has had an impact but it is a difference
comapred to the others.
