HotSpots

Is there a way that when you set a hotspot on a graphic that you can have the
cursoe turn into the finger pointer so people know that it is a hyperlink?
Also can you use Screen Tips with hotspots?

Yes. It does this by default if you have applied the link properly.
Also can you use Screen Tips with hotspots?

You mean title attributes? Certainly.

Yes, that should happen anyway, if you've assigned a hyperlink to the
hotspot.

Yes, you can have screentips (just add the screen tip in the Hyperlinks
dialogue box as usual).

The link works fine when I use the HotSpot but the finger does not come up
automatically as you suggest when the cursor is moved over the hotspot.
This causes the users to think it isn't a link there at all. Any other
suggestions? If I could get this to work then I could use the hotspot
instead of using transparent autoshapes which move all over the screen are
are not functional between all browsers. Thanks for any assistance in
advance.

See if you can access this site. It is a development environment so you may
not be able to..
http://dev.hqda.pentagon.mil/ima/northeast/NewTemplatesite/sites/divisions/hrdivtable.asp

If you get to it put the cursor ove the block that says "Director". This is
a hotspot. It does nor change to a finger when the cursor is places over it.
The other boxes on this are using the autosymbol rectangle with a a
hyperlink to them and it does change to a finger. problem with these is that
the screen tips disappear and the url file name get changed to junk each time
tou go back in to update the page. If you can not access this let me know
your email address and I will email it to you. Thanks

That hotspot will produce the desired pointer, unless there is some other
style cascading into it forcing a change, or there is some other page
element masking the hotspot.

Agree
- check for layers over layer 8 and the style called by class="shape"
