HotSync Manager Dies at Entourage Conduit

Corey

I have 3 clients that recently upgraded to Office 2004.
One T3, one Zire 71, one Treo 600. They've all been able
to sync until recently. Now, with Palm Desktop 4.2.1,
they try to sync and the HotSync Manager just goes away
when it reaches "Entourage Conduit". Sometimes it will
make it all the way to "Date Book" on the Palm, but the
computer is still the same--HotSync Manager dies.
Occasionally I get the Error Report window to tell
Microsoft and Apple of the problem...so I'm guessing the
computer thinks its the Entourage conduit that has the
problem. Has anyone else experienced this? Any possible
solutions?

1 computer-17" G4 Pbook

All 3--OS X 10.3.5, Palm Desktop 4.2.1, Office 2004
Thanks!

Did they install the Office 2004 conduit? More information here:

If that doesn't fix the problem, see this:
To avoid accidental data loss, synchronization between Entourage 2004 and
palmOne's new handhelds is turned off by default. Follow this procedure to
turn on synchronization after both Palm synchronization software and the
Microsoft Handheld Synchronization software have been installed:
1. Launch the HotSync Manager application (usually located in
HD/Applications/Palm)
2. Under the HotSync menu, choose Conduit Settings.
3. Double-click the "Entourage Conduit" entry.
4. Near the bottom, check the option to "Enable synchronization with these
new handhelds."
5. Click OK.

The handhelds that are affected by this issue are the ones that have
"Organizer Plus," including Zire 31, Zire 72, Tungsten E, and Tungsten T3.

I did try this--however I'm unable to open the Conduit in
HotSync manager. As soon as I do, HotSync Manager
vanashes...like it was never open...not even an error
message. ?? Any other suggestions.
Thanks!
Corey
