Hour glass won't stop like it's saving constantly

I have turned off back-up saves, and everything I know in tools and options,
and changed my mouse and keyboard. This only happens in MS Word 2002 and
have now installed a newer version 2003 and updated everything and it is
still happening?? Anyone, please help if you can!!!! I cannot type for the
program hanging up constantly.

First I suggest that you have Task Manager running to see that it is
definitely Word that is using up the CPU.
