Hours missing in Portfolio Analyzer

Hello,

I need help with Portfolio Analyzer.

Actuals from one of our projects are not coming trough to the Portfolio
Analyzer.
The resources are booking their time, the time gets updated by the manager,
it also gets imported to the project plan. But when I run the Portfolio
Analyze the hours are missing.

Many Thanks for any suggestions.

Hello Veronika,

we had the same problem and found 2 reasons:

1. synchronise the actual work with the actual work protected
2. wie had actual work protected reported after the end of the task - this
time was not in the cube. here you have to ende the task with the last entry
in actual work prtected.

Best regrads

Hi Michael,

Many thanks for your prompt replay.

I have to admit that I don’t know great deal about Project Server. I’ve only
been made Server administrator 2 months ago and so far I had not received any
formal training so you will have bear with me. I am sorry to ask this but I
am not sure what you mean by †synchronising work with the actual work
protectedâ€.

I don’t think our actuals are protected. Is this something that the project
manager sets up in his plan?

The interesting thing is that the project manager has 2 plans currently
published on the Project Server. The actuals from the other plan are coming
trough the Portfolio Analyzer just fine.

I would greatly appreciate your help.

Check and see the last time the OLAP was updated. (PWA/Admin/manage
Enterprise features) Sometimes the OLAP Cube fails and this is where you'll
make sure it's been running. NOte: In our company it's only scheduled to run
once a day. so, changes published affer the run don't show until the next day.

I've also (once) had use Project Professional to go through each of our 35
projects and republish (and select Overwrite) all of the assignments. This
fixed it.

Hi Barb,

Many thanks for you replay. I’ve checked our cube and it’s updating fine.
Our cube updates every day at 1am. All hours on other projects are coming
trough, including the Project Manager’s second project. I’ve also asked him
to republish all assignments. But that didn’t help either. I’ve got a
suspicious feeling that this might be something to do with the SQL database
(and we don’t have a SQL administrator at the moment). Thanks again for your
help at least I know that it’s not just my silly mistake.
