Housatonic Project tools

Hi,

I have just loaded up Project 2007 and am checking out what is new and
imporved over 2003. On the toolbar there is a toolbar to select called
"Housatonic Project tools". When I select it, there is nothing there and am
now wondering is there something missing from the install? or what is this
Houstaonic tool and what value does it have? I see references to a viewer
for project from 3rd parties which uses the term Housatonic, but as this is
part of the Microsoft supplied toolbar it implies that this is a set of
microsoft provided tools under the heading Housatonic.

Any ideas please?

Whatever that is, it ain't standard to Project 2007. Maybe it was an add-in
installed with a previous version of Project which decided to show up again?

Hi Andrew,

It is certainly not an add-in from a previous version. It is not in 2003,
and since this computer I now use has only had 2003 on previously and this
function does not exist in 2003, it can only have been a part of my loading
2007 the other day. Interesting thing though is what on earth is it? I have
found a project viewer from a company called Housatonic software, even though
I cannot seem to find the company on the internet. Very baffling

Interesting that it has wound up on a new/first install of project 2007.
Guess it has little/no impact onthe working of project 2007.

You're welcome, David I have experienced similar myself as I have used
Housatonic's offerings, and on re-installing Project it picked up the
Housatonic program. On your PC I can only think it must have been loaded
sometime before and uninstalled, possibly leaving a registry entry behind.
Anyway, it will have no effect on your Project installation and can safely
be deleted.
