hover button problem with xp

Why do my hover buttons on frontpage 2000 come up as red
crosses when i display them in my web browser?

Hi Jo,

The XP systems do not have the Java Virtual Machine JVC required by Java
Applets. I would recommend that you used mouse overs instead.

Hover buttons are java applets, so you will need to install
Java. XP & IE6 do not contain a Jave virtual machine, as
per a court ruling which disallows MS to distribute it. You
can install Java from sun.com or the MS version from an AOL
CD.

This is the main reason people use to argue against the use
of Hover buttons. Recommended replacements are to use
javasript or DHTML effects.
