How are ordering geometry sections in visio ?

Hi,

I searched all the web, to find an answer about my problem, but
nothing.
I did some tests, but when I subtract shapes, the main shape is not at
the same place in geometry sections.

Example : If I draw a shape on my page and subtract some shape to the
first one, I've holes in my first shape.
But when I look at geometry sections, I can see all my shapes
"subtracted", but I can't locate the first shape easily, because, it's
not the same geometry section number each time.

I hope you will understand my problem, and have an idea, or a
solution ! ;-)

Thanks,

Clément.

PS: Sorry for my bad english...

But in my test first shape is always in Geometry1.
I've tested with 2 shapes. First is large rectangle and the second is small
circl.
Subtract was made with the menu Shape/Combine(?)/Subtract.

Thank you for you quick reply !

You're right, in this case, the first shape is in Geometry1. I didn't
wrote it properly, if you substract a shape that is inside and outside
to the main shape and a shape inside, the main shape goes to geometry
2 and the shape inside goes to geometry 1. Is there a way to subtract
and keep the main shape in geometry 1 ?

For information, I use the subtract method with automation.

Thanks

Clément.

Edit : You have the same problem if you subtract 2 shape inside the
main one.

Now, I see, second shall be large enough.
My idea is to make Geometry3 and copy all data from Geometry1 and delete
geometry1.

Yes, It can be a good solution, but when I subtract other shapes to
the result of the first subtract operation, the main shape stay on the
same Geometry and subtracted shapes on next geometry.

Thank you for your help again. ;-)

You could repear similar practice.
Or you could make macro to simplfy your work.
I wonder if there is any other way.
