how auto-apply standard size to copied image pasted to slide?

I would like to create a standard template that includes an Metafile image
that is copied from another source. The idea is that Powerpoint will
automatically size and position the image as soon as I hit <ctrl - v> to
paste.

choose a layout with an image placeholder eg title / text/clipart. In format
placeholder set the size and position of the placeholder. Click in the
placeholder and ctrl V
