How best to synch laptop to desktop in home network

I would like to have identical copies of all my sent and received emails as
well as my calandar synched between my plaptop and my desktop. How do I set
this up? I will be travelling for a month, when I get back I want to put all
of my newly received emails on my desktop. I also want to have access to what
already is on the desktop so I can refer back to them while on the road.
