How big a document can be in Word 2002?

I am creating documentation for a big system. I want to
know how many pages can a word document have for it to
open properly?? Is there any size restriction??

Also, if there is any size restriction, can I create
separate documents and make or link them as one documents
and form a table contents signifying the different page
numbering done in those documents.

Suppose, I create a master document A,
In that document, there are topics which has more than 100
pages in itself. So I decide to create separate documents
for each of them as document B,C,D etc. Is there any way,
I can make master document A have the table of contents
showing as if B,C,D belong to A and have page numbers
associated to each of the headings in documents B,C,D??
