Just checked my MS Entourage Database and it is about 3.0 GB. How big
is too bid?

Thanks for the link. I just noted
Entourage 2004 has a database size limit of 16
exabytes (equal to approximately 16 billion GB

The reason mine is large is I have archived mail folders for mail by
year going back to 1997. The current inbox and sent mail are only for
2006.

Maybe I should rethink the archives and save the identity but it is
handy to have them available at a mouse click.

I do the same and have a similar sized database (around 3.6gb). As long as I
keep my regularly used mail folders below about 5000 mails things are
responsive enough. Some of the archive folders have tens (or even hundreds)
of thousand emails in them, and they can be a little slow to open or sort.
