How can doc be retrieved if Word experieced error opening file?

I am needing to know if a word document can be retrieved if Word Experienced
an error opening file. I need that document that is possibly corrupt.

Have you tried using Open and Repair?

Yes. The funny thing is that in the File Open Menu where a list of all your
documents that have been previously opened, the document I need is showing
but when I try to open it I get the error "Word experience an error trying to
open the file" and sugguest options to try but none of them work. I really
need this document otherwise I will have to start over from scratch...2,000
word paper on Ethics and Regulatory Issues....Any other suggestions!!!
