How can figure out the gap between different periods for the same

I have al ist of titles and periods related to each title. Some titles have
more than one period. How can figure out the gap between different periods
for the same title? Example:

Title Start End
A 1-Jan-04 31-Dec-04
A 1-Jan-06 31-Dec-06
B 1-Feb-05 31-Jan-07
C 1-Apr-06 31-Mar-07
C 1-Dec-07 30-Nov-09

I know that for title A there is a gap between 31-Dec-04 and 1-Jan-06. How
can I analyze a huge database and get this information automatically?
