Create a contact for that family member and associate it with the parent
contact by pressing the Contact button at the bottom of the record.

When I go to the customize view for the detailed contact view, under the
field group called names, there is a customizable field called children. Why
would microsoft have this as a standard field but no standard ability to add
children on the detail input screen. I think they should have an input in
the standard form and that the system automatically should calculate the age
of the members. Do you have a formula to add to the user defined fields that
would calculate age? thanks for your previous response. I also determined
that this was the only way but it does clutter up the contact folder when it
is downloaded to a pda. I think I might add a folder called children and
move all of the associated children to that file.

http://www.outlook-tips.net/howto/age_form.htm You will need to create
separate contact forms for each person for whom you need to calculate the
age.

You are correct. However, in the customize field area there is the
capability to insert a formula. what would be the formula to calculate
current age. i.e. Birthdate (1./3/46 minus the current date = # of years
old
