How can I always view subfolders as a list instead of icons?

When I open a folder to view the sub-folders within, the sub-folders come up
as thumbnail tiles. I know I can then go in and change the view, but is there
a way to go into settings and change the view permanantly?

Thanks.

That's a Windows Explorer setting. Open Explorer, set the view to details
view and then use Tools, Folder Options, View tab and press APPLY TO ALL
FOLDERS. Also check (in the same dialog) that the option to Remember Each
Folders View Settings is checked.
